{"id":2028,"date":"2017-10-02T20:38:47","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T00:38:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ohmci.org\/?p=2028"},"modified":"2017-10-02T20:40:43","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T00:40:43","slug":"ohmc-fall-outing-and-steak-fry-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ohmci.org\/?p=2028","title":{"rendered":"OHMC Fall Outing Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 2017 OHMC Fall Outing was held on Saturday, September 30<sup>th<\/sup> and Sunday, October 1<sup>st<\/sup>.\u00a0 The festivities started on Thursday as a few anglers showed up early to take advantage of the picture perfect weather.\u00a0 The temperatures for the weekend never got above 75 degrees and did not dip below 45 degrees.\u00a0 Mostly sunny skies and very light wind made for what most agreed to be the ideal conditions for camping and fishing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">By Friday evening the campground filled in and everyone greeted one-another with smiles, hugs, and handshakes.\u00a0 The conversations were jovial and it seemed like we all were just glad to be there.\u00a0 A few new faces were welcomed into the group.\u00a0 As always, we made sure to greet new members and make them feel right at home with the club.\u00a0 Club Treasurer John Ringenbach registered everyone in the campground on Friday evening as he continues his tireless service to the club from which we all benefit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Early on Saturday morning as some anglers were just taking to the water, OHMC member Kyle Jones was enjoying the type of morning we all dream of having.\u00a0 By 9:00 AM, he had put 3 huskies in his boat and done a good deed by assisting a nearby kayaker in landing a 46 inch fish which was that angler\u2019s very first muskie.\u00a0 I know it was an emotional day as it was the anniversary of the passing of a loved one.\u00a0 I\u2019m also sure that his loved ones would be incredibly proud of the good deed and talent put on display.\u00a0 The bar had been set high for the event big fish award at 47.5\u201d, but that would not withstand the Sunday charge that was coming.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As we filtered back to the campground Saturday evening to enjoy our steak fry, it was apparent that most of us were without that familiar slime on our nets.\u00a0 So as usual, we drowned our sorrows in food.\u00a0 The \u201croast\u201d sized ribeye steaks were grilled to perfection by OHMC Past-President Fred Lederer and were thoroughly enjoyed by all.\u00a0 We had plenty of side dishes and some amazing pie that a member brought for us to enjoy.\u00a0 Surely, nobody was hungry at the conclusion of the meal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Next, the raffle prizes were drawn by 2<sup>nd<\/sup> V.P Rick Simpson, Secretary Stephanie Neville, and Trustee Robert Neville.\u00a0 The 50\/50 in the amount of $106 was split between the club and Fred Lederer who had purchased the winning ticket.\u00a0 Many baits and miscellaneous items were won during the general prize raffle and most who bought tickets left the event with a prize<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of us went back out fishing in the darkness on Saturday evening while others opted for an early bedtime \u2013 early rise approach.\u00a0 Phil Jarvis headed out Sunday morning with a bit of disheartenment, but that was about to change.\u00a0 He had a bite window open up late in the morning for a little over an hour.\u00a0 That window saw him land five (5) fish including a Personal Best 49\u201d behemoth that was good enough to take the $90 big fish prize.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The final standings were as follows:\u00a0 Phil Jarvis (1<sup>st<\/sup> Place); (49.00\u201d, 41.00\u201d, 39.25\u201d, 37.00\u201d, 30.00\u201d) (66.25 points): Kyle Jones (2<sup>nd<\/sup> Place); (47.50\u201d, 46.00\u201d, 43.00\u201d) (58.50 points): Bill Lambert (3<sup>rd<\/sup> Place);
